You can cultivate an overmind

When you do, you'll have an overmind/consciousness that is ever present and removed/distanced from  your regular mind.  The overmind should be absorbed with TGT and seeking happiness.  And since it is distanced from your regular mind, it is possible for your overmind to observe what the regular mind is doing.  The overmind can see the regular mind racing from subject to subject, thought to thought.  Monkey mind.  But because there is that distance, the overmind can view a thought that's occurring in the monkey mind and examine it.  Where did this thought come from?  From what did it arise?  Does it make sense?  Is it a good thought or a bad thought?  Does it bring me pleasure or pain?  Can I change this thought?  Maybe it can mold it from its current state/shape into something else?  Maybe I can take a bad thought, love it for the unique snowflake that it is, and then mold it into a positive thought.  Maybe I can take a good thought. love it for the unique snowflake that it is, and then "juice" it.  Bump it up a notch.  Make it even more positive.  Maybe I can take this good thought and fantasize a way that it could be better than it already is.  If you can, turn your overmind into a thought/feeling traffic cop directing traffic.  Direct negative thoughts into oblivion and good thoughts to the forefront of your mind.  It will make you feel better.

The overmind is what they mean by achieving a “higher level of consciousness.”  You become conscious of your own thoughts and feeling instead of being ruled by them; letting them drive the car.

"I found myself in a blissful state of what I guess I’d call “no mind” where I could fully observe the goings on in my consciousness without being engaged with those goings on...At that moment it was clear to me that this - mindfulness of the endlessly unfolding present, loving kindness, and faith in action (service) '
