You can be enlightened and still have bad habits

You can be enlightened and still have bad habits. Patterns. They're habitual after all. But through reflection and changing your behavior, you can make life better.

You can be enlightened and still not like people. Not care for them.  Find them frustrating.  You can hate people with all your heart and soul.  You can wish them ill.  You can hope they get hit by a bus and die.  You can kill them over and over and over again in your mind reveling in the blood curdling screams of fear and terror.

But as long as you don’t affect them physically, then you are enlightened.  And an enlightened being does not put their negative thoughts into action.  Thus, you hold back the violence and pain you want to inflict on others (don't tell them about it out loud either, though.  That will freak them the fuck out.).  By not hurting others via physical action or speech (speech is technically an physical action), you are caring for them.  You are actually loving them.  And loving other beings is what Enlightened beings to.  So fucking hate all you want.  Just don't put it into physical action.  Just don't be a fucking dick to people.

You can be enlightened and still want things.  You desire them, but you realize they are not necessary for true happiness.  True happiness comes from recognizing that same spark of life in other beings and knowing that loving and comforting them is what one should do to other beings.  It makes them happy, feel loved, safe, and accepted. Let other beings love you that same way, too.  And you really should love yourself that way as well.  Unconditional love.  In fact, you should start with yourself if possible.

When you desire physical things and experiences, you just want a dopamine squirt.  But you want *that* dopamine squirt.  The unique dopamine squirt associated with that specific physical thing or experience.  Every squirt tastes different and you can like the taste of some dopamine squirts more than others.
